After graduating with an Honours Degree in Accounting & Finance from Lancaster University, Adrian trained with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983. He moved to Hazlewoods to specialise in taxation, becoming a partner in 1988. Currently he heads up the Tax team at Hazlewoods with Jon Cartwright.
As most of the work undertaken by the Hazlewoods Corporate Tax team involves proprietorial companies, he believes it is vital to consider all aspects in planning. A wide knowledge of income, capital gains and inheritance tax is crucial.
Two areas where Adrian has particular expertise are share and business valuation and employee share schemes. On the list of experts at the Institute of Chartered Accountants, he has also appeared in Court as an expert witness on a number of occasions.
