In 2 weeks’ time Scott Lawrence will embark on the hardest physical challenge of his life and would very much like your help and support for Winston’s Wish.
Scott has been a partner since 2006. He joined Hazlewoods in 1993 with an honours degree in Accountancy & Management Information Systems and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996. He specialises in audit and assurance services, working closely with our Tax Team to deliver high quality, appropriate and timely solutions.
Scott has assembled a small team of 8 friends and business partners with the personal ambition of standing on the highest point of Africa, the only place on Earth where you can see the natural curvature of our amazing planet. Along the way, he’s hoping to raise money for Winston’s Wish through the following JustGiving pages https://www.justgiving.com/teams/personalambition or https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/scott-lawrence3
There is absolutely no doubt that Scott’s team will suffer from altitude sickness including headaches, extreme fatigue and sickness and whilst there is a 30% chance that he may not summit, he’s determined to try, having spent 18 months training and preparing including gym work, the 3 peaks challenge and lots of reading. He and his team will be climbing 5,950m with no toilet or shower and only basic provisions in small tents with temperatures ranging from -20 to +20 degrees.
Winston’s Wish are a great charity that started in Cheltenham in 1992, now providing much needed help and support to bereaved children throughout the UK including at the base of Grenfell Tower. Scott has had personal experience working with their expert counsellors and supporters and has realised that you cannot underestimate the impact of bereavement on children.
Scott would very much appreciate any donations, kind words and support.
We all wish him the best of luck!
