Autumn Statement date announced

Published: Monday 17 September 2012

The Autumn Statement 2012 will be made by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, on Wednesday 5 December at 12.30pm.

The Statement provides an update on the Government’s plans for the economy. The announcements will be based on the latest forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility which will be published on the same day.

Many people fear that the updated forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility could conclude that it is unlikely that the country will hit it's debt target by the end of the parliament in 2015. If this happens Mr Osborne will have a difficult decision of whether to make more spending cuts, increase taxes or relax the target.

Our website will be updated with the important information you need to know from the speech. In the meantime if you want to find out more about current tax issues and potential new tax rules call
