Determined staff from Hazlewoods took part in a muddy challenge to raise money for charity.

The 12 strong team completed the 8 km Devil Mud Run at Pontlarge Farm, near Cheltenham on Saturday (Sept 26) in support of Hazlewoods charity of the year, Stroud Beresford Group, Gloucestershire’s only women’s refuge.

The intrepid team had to jump, wade, crawl and slide through 31 obstacles including mud-filled swamps, giant walls, ice cold dips and hay bale mountains.

The Taxmanian Devils said: “The team are thrilled with the support from family, friends and colleagues, and have raised over £1,400 with gift aid for our charity of the year so it was a great effort by everyone involved”.

“It was one of a series of fund-raising events our staff have volunteered to take part in this year to raise money to support the important work of Stroud Beresford Group.”

The women’s refuge has been offering accommodation, advice and support for families affected by domestic abuse for over 35 years.

A local, independent charity it also offers outreach services in the community for those affected by domestic abuse and supports those at risk, helping children and their parents overcome their experiences.
