Hazlewoods is delighted to announce that our charity of the year for 2018/19 is Maggie’s, following an internal poll in which Maggie’s received 49% of all votes.

Maggie’s provide free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends.

Each year, over 3,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK. Maggie’s is there to support all who may be affected by cancer, offering a trusted support system that has been shown to improve and strengthen people’s physical and emotional wellbeing.

Over the next 12 months, our employees will strive to the challenge of raising as much money as possible for Maggie’s, by participating in a variety of fundraising events including dress down days, quizzes, sporting events and a staff summer party.

Andy Harris, Associate Partner and Chair of the Social Committee said “I am delighted that we will be working with Maggie’s. This is a very worthy cause, which helps thousands of people in our area every year and we aim to raise as much for them as possible.”

Staff will be encouraged to take time out to get involved in volunteering projects with Maggie’s, as well as supporting local events.

Anna Mason, Fundraising Manager at Maggie’s added “We are delighted to be Hazlewoods chosen charity for the next year and really appreciate their support. It is going to be a very exciting year with the various fundraising events they have planned and we are really looking forward to working in partnership with them.”

Last year we raised £17,100 for charity, helping Scoo-B-Doo support neonatal care at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
