Published: Thursday 19 March 2020

The last few years have seen an explosion of online accounting solutions for small businesses, meaning that for many, they will retain the ability to manage finances remotely while working from home.

Sage 50
For businesses using Sage 50, ensure that you have set up Sage Drive which will enable you to access your accounts remotely. You will need to install Sage on the remote computer you will be using.

Instructions to do this can be found here.

Despite these difficult times, this could be an excellent opportunity to make the leap from desktop software to a cloud solution. Making the transition may seem daunting, but cloud solutions are increasingly necessary, now more than ever. We are happy to do this on your behalf, and with the process taking as little as 24 hours, you will be back up and running before you know it.

If you are already using cloud software, then now may be the time to start using some of the features that you have overlooked in the past. For example:

  • the ability to group customers could highlight any customers perceived to be at risk.
  • Implementing automatic reminders can help you to ensure that any outstanding invoices get paid, boosting your cashflow.

Having data available at your fingertips will be instrumental as you make decisions for your business, both short-term and looking ahead to the future.
