Gloucester City Council Offers New Growth Accelerator Grants

Gloucester City Council is looking to support new business start-ups and business development as well as companies looking to expand or relocate within Gloucester. The Council has announced two new grant schemes which support Growth Accelerator clients in the Gloucester area.
 
Growth Accelerator is a national business support programme that helps match businesses with proven business experts to define a growth plan tailored to realise controlled and accelerated growth. To be eligible for Growth Accelerator, a business must have fewer than 250 employees and turnover of less than £40million. Businesses will not be eligible if they are already receiving other government subsidised funding.
 
Growing Gloucester Grants (new city businesses) Scheme
 
  • A grant of £5,000 is available for innovative businesses that are undertaking a Growth Accelerator programme AND can bring 20 to 49 new jobs to the City.
  • A grant of £10,000 is available for innovative businesses that are undertaking a Growth Accelerator programme AND can bring a minimum of 50 new jobs to Gloucester.
 
Growing Gloucester Grants (existing city businesses) Scheme
 
A contribution of up to £1,500 could be available to existing Gloucester businesses looking to boost innovation. The grant will cover 50% of the Growth Accelerator costs and successful applicants will be expected to match fund 50% of the support provided by the City Council.
