Hazlewoods advise on the sale of Mudie-Bond Limited

Published: Wednesday 25 July 2012

Hazlewoods Corporate Finance has recently advised Mudie-Bond Limited on its acquisition by Rygor Commercials Limited.  The Hazlewoods team was led by Corporate Finance Partner, Paul Fussell.

Mudie-Bond, one of Britain’s best known Mercedes-Benz truck and van dealerships has dealerships in Tewskesbury, Kidderminster, Oxford and Brackley.  The Company also has a Tesco Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Didcot.

Rygor Commercials Managing Director, Tim Stacey, commented: “Mudie-Bond was a well established business and had an excellent reputation within the industry. What’s more, it employed a first-class team of people who should see this change of ownership as presenting a great opportunity to maximise their individual potentials.  This deal will allow us to combine the best of what Mudie-Bond has been doing with our own best practice processes, and to roll them out across all of our locations. The result will be a stronger company, which is better able to deliver the very highest levels of customer service”.

Mudie-Bond was founded following a management buyout in 1987 by Richard Bond and Mike Mudie, both of whom retained a major shareholding in the business until this acquisition.

Paul Fussell of Hazlewoods Corporate Finance noted: "Hazlewoods has advised Mudie-Bond from Incorporation to Exit, having advised on both the acquisition of the business in April 1987 and sale in June 2012.  We wish Richard Bond and Mike Mudie best wishes on their retirement and look forward to seeing the business grow under the ownership of Rygor Commercials”.
