An outstanding performance by Hazlewoods Corporate Finance team has been rewarded with a top five position in the national mergers and acquisitions rankings.
The Gloucestershire firm, which completed deals worth more than £1 billion in 2021, has been named the fifth most active adviser in the UK by Experian MarketIQ.
Experian’s annual report, which rates advisers on the volume of deals completed, reveals that Hazlewoods rose one place, from sixth to fifth, in the UK – beating some of the Big Four firms.
It also ranked Hazlewoods in the top five regionally in London, the Midlands, East of England, and the South West, and in the top ten in Wales, Yorkshire and Humber, and the South East.
Overall, 2021 was a record-breaking year for the Hazlewoods award-winning Corporate Finance team, who completed 170 transactions – more than three a week – valued at £1.074 billion.
Deal volumes were up 14% nationally, according to Experian. The number of deals completed by Hazlewoods were up 28% on 2020, with the combined value of transactions up 41%.
