Hazlewoods raise funds for the Cobalt Appeal

Published: Monday 23 July 2012

Hazlewoods have raised £7,918 for their 2011/12 nominated charity, Cobalt.

Based in Cheltenham, Cobalt is dedicated to the prevention, research, treatment and diagnosis of cancer and other life-threatening diseases, they were an extremely deserving cause.

During this time, Cobalt launched their ‘Heart, Mind & Body Scanner Appeal’ aiming to raise £1m to fund a specialist CT scanner for the benefit of patients throughout the county, in partnership with the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Hazlewoods are pleased to be able to support this with their donation and help them reach this total, which currently stands just below the £1m target.

The firm’s fundraising efforts included regular social events for the staff, raffles, games and dress down day collections each month. They joined in with the ‘Wear Blue 4 Cobalt’ day in January 2012, and had a ‘dress up’ day during 2011 where the firm’s three offices were filled with tuxedos and tiaras.

Zena Giles from Cobalt has said the following,

“We are so grateful to Hazlewoods for the fantastic £8,000 (it so nearly is) that’s been raised during your Charity of the Year support.  What a huge boost this has been to our Heart Mind & Body Scanner Appeal and thanks to you we can now almost touch the finishing post of our £1m appeal.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the variety of fundraising events throughout the year.  It’s been great having your support.”
