In a further addition to the announcements being made in light of COVID-19 and its impact on businesses, HMRC has now confirmed that it is delaying the deadline for all making tax digital (MTD) businesses to put in place digital links between all parts of their functional compatible software.
The postponement means that all MTD businesses will now have until the first VAT return period starting on or after 1 April 2021 to put their digital links in place. The delay will be a welcome reduction in the compliance burden for many businesses at this time.
