At Hazlewoods we are proud to support the community in which we live and work. Each year we provide a shortlist of charities for our employees to vote on and decide who they would like to raise money for that year. We then spend the year taking part in various fundraising activities to raise as much money as possible to support our chosen charity.
In 2019, we are celebrating our centenary year and have set ourselves the target of raising £100,000 for our 'Charity of the Year', Maggie's.
Hazlewoods current charity of the year
Maggie’s provide free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends. Each year, over 300,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK. Maggie’s is there to support all who may be affected by cancer, offering a trusted support system that has been shown to improve and strengthen people’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
Over the next 12 months, our employees will strive to the challenge of raising as much money as possible for Maggie’s by participating in a variety of fundraising events including dress down days, a quiz, sporting events and a staff summer party.

Fundraising and volunteering
As part of our centenary celebrations, we are giving all employees half a day during 2019 away from the office to take some time to support a local good cause, either through volunteering and/or fundraising.
Although Maggie's is our chosen charity of the year, employees can choose other causes to volunteer their time to. If you have any volunteering opprtunities that you would like us to encourage employees to take part in, please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
