About Us

Supporting our community

We’re proud to come together and support the communities we live and work in. Every January we select a shortlist of charities for our teams to vote on and decide which good cause we’ll raise money for over the coming year.

For 2026/27, we are delighted to be expanding our Charity of the Year programme. As our Bristol and Cardiff offices continue to grow, we will be proudly partnering with three incredible charities that resonate across the region: Team Charlie (Cheltenham), Tŷ Hafan (Cardiff) and Teenage Cancer Trust (Bristol).

But our people have big hearts and lots to give, so as you’ll see they’re not the only charities or good causes to benefit from our support this year.

Our Charities of the Year

Team Charlie: We support children living with cancer, offering respite and creating memories. In memory of 13 year old Charlie Ilsley, we’re a non-profit charity offering free holiday respite to children & their families navigating the ordeal of childhood cancer. Our Cotswold holiday home, Charlie’s Retreat, is a safe space for them to spend time together, boost wellbeing & create memories.

Tŷ Hafan: Sadly, thousands of families in Wales live every day knowing their child’s life will be short. At the moment, they often face this without any care or support. Alone. Afraid. Isolated. Tŷ Hafan’s ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own.

Teenage Cancer Trust: We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Money raised will go directly to these amazing causes. Every donation helps.

Partnerships like this change the world

Everyone at James Hopkins Trust was thrilled to be chosen as Hazlewoods’ charity of the year, partnerships like this truly change the world for charities like us and we couldn’t do what we do without the practical and financial support of local companies, community groups and individuals.”

Fundraising and volunteering

Although Team Charlie, Tŷ Hafan and Teenage Cancer Trust are our chosen Charities of the Year, we give all our employees a half day off each year to support a local good cause of their own choice. If you have any volunteering opportunities you’d like us to know about and possibly take part in, please get in touch.

Local community sponsorship

Hazlewoods people are involved in many local clubs and societies outside of work – representing a broad array of hobbies and sporting interests.

Every year we sponsor a number of local clubs from across the region, which our staff are involved with – this year including Cinderford FC, Newport Centurions Korfball, Gloucester Canoe Club, Cheltenham Town Community Trust and Cinderballers Bloom Netball to name just a few!
