Health and wellbeing

Our Mind Body and Soul team dedicates time to organising events and reviewing packages throughout the year to support employee health and wellbeing. We have enjoyed:

  • Neal's Yard treats and offers
  • Access to employee assistance programme and mental health wellbeing app

Volunteering

We encourage our employees to spend one day a year supporting local good causes.

"I gave my time to charity by helping out the Sue Ryder Hospice fundraising team set up The Starlight Hike. This is a 10k walk in memory of lost loved ones and to raise money to support the hospice. Sue Ryder provides palliative, neurological and bereavement support to everyone with a terminal illness, including their families. They do home visits too, with many terminally ill patients living with their illness for a number of years. Sue Ryder could not provide their expert care without the time, skills and dedication that volunteers bring and I was pleased to be able to play my part."

Fundraising

Hazlewoods supports a nominated charity every year, chosen by our employees.  To find out about our charity of the year, click here. We have raised money from quizzes, sponsored swims, our tuck shop, dress down days and much more.

In 2021 our charity of the year is Severn Freewheelers; the charity provides a free out-of-hours courier service for hospitals across local counties, carrying blood, pathology samples, patient scans/x-rays, human milk and other medical essentials.

Social life

Our Social Committee puts on some fantastic events for everyone to enjoy.  From our annual Christmas Party and family summer event, to cinema evenings and quiz nights.

There is always something going on and we love to hear people's ideas and new things to get involved in. If you are new to the area, the social events are a great way to meet new people and see new venues.

Our dress code is pretty simple – dress appropriately. That means if you are going to a smart, corporate client or a factory, we would expect you to dress for the occasion. Whilst you are in the office, we’re a bit more relaxed – smart/casual is fine.
