Every October Cheltenham welcomes thousands of visitors from across the UK as it hosts a wide array of authors and commentators at The Times and Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival. Started back in 1949, it is the world’s longest running Literature Festival.
This year the event spans from 10 – 19 October at the Montpellier Gardens main festival site and other key venues across regency Cheltenham including the Town Hall, Parabola Arts Centre, The Wilson Gallery and Dunkertons. There will be over 400 events and 500 speakers appealing to both young and old, with a full programme of events including poetry, culinary, travel, history, politics and comedy.
This year Hazlewoods is proud to sponsor popular broadcaster and author Graham Norton as he discusses his latest novel Frankie – a heartfelt story of memory and human connection. Graham’s novel centres on Frankie an elderly Londoner and her young Irish carer who bond as she tells him the story of her past filled with larger-than-life characters, from post-war Ireland to the dazzling art scene of 1960s New York.
Alison Townsend, Hazlewoods Marketing Director states “As a long-time supporter of Cheltenham Literature Festival, Hazlewoods is incredibly proud to sponsor Graham Norton’s event and hear Graham talk about his delightful novel Frankie. Cheltenham Festivals are an important part of Cheltenham’s local identity, and they provide such a wide array of enriching culture and opportunities for the whole community to enjoy. As one of Cheltenham’s largest employers we are a huge advocate of the Festivals’ year-round outreach and learning participation programmes, and celebrate the hard work that all at Cheltenham Festivals do for our town, and beyond”
