I began my career in 2013 at a top 40 firm, originally operating in a mixed tax role with a portfolio of personal and corporate clients. This role gave me considerable experience and exposure to many areas of tax which are applicable to Owner Managed Businesses such as SEIS/EIS and EMI, as well as innovation reliefs such as R&D Tax Credits and Patent Box. I particularly enjoy building relationships and rapport with clients, and I have always found R&D an accessible, effective and rewarding process of achieving that.
In 2020, my focus moved to solely dealing with Corporate Tax as my specialism for R&D grew. Since this time, the R&D tax credit regime and HMRC’s policing of it became much more stringent and complex which led to me successfully defending claims from HMRC enquiries. These experiences reinforced my passion for supporting innovative companies to access the valuable tax reliefs which they are entitled to.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my young family. I also try to go to the gym regularly and attend a weekly pub quiz with mixed results!
