Hazlewoods supported the equity investment in Montpellier Legal, which won in the ‘Small Deal of the Year’ category at Insider Dealmaker Awards 2026 in Bristol, 26 June.

The annual awards, now in its 20th year, celebrate the standout deals and advisory teams shaping the South West market. These nominations recognised Hazlewoods overall corporate finance performance in the region and a specific transaction — The Mortgage Brain’s strategic deal with The Better Homes Group.
The award-winning deal saw Foresight Group invest in Montpellier Legal, a fast-growing, tech-enabled conveyancing law firm based in Gloucestershire, to support its next phase of expansion.
Hazlewoods provided financial due diligence to Foresight, delivering the financial insight and analysis to support the investment decision.
The awards’ judges praised the transaction for securing the firm’s long-term future, highlighting both the quality of execution and its strong growth potential.
Founded in 2021, Montpellier Legal has rapidly scaled its presence in the region through a technology-led, customer-focused model.
With investment from Foresight’s South West Fund, the business is well positioned to accelerate growth, expand geographically, and continue to disrupt the conveyancing market.
