Hazlewoods M&A Advisory team has advised the shareholders of Positive Pathways Ltd, an operator of six Ofsted-registered children’s homes, on the successful sale of the business to Care Perspectives Ltd.
Founded by Kevin and Danielle Epps, Positive Pathways has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, child-centred care for looked-after children with complex needs in the Midlands. Having spent four decades working in children’s social care and mental health services, the founders were keen to ensure that a buyer would preserve their values and legacy.
Care Perspectives, a Leicester-based provider of tailored therapeutic support, residential care and specialist education, shares Positive Pathways’ commitment to inspiring young people through compassionate care and improved outcomes. The acquisition also ensures continuity for the children and staff at the homes.
Care Perspectives operates 10 children’s homes, with a further four due to open this year. It also runs New Perspectives School, an independent special school supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Kevin Epps said: “Selling Positive Pathways was a significant milestone for us. It was important that we found a buyer who would continue our legacy.
“Having previously been through an unsuccessful sale process, we were naturally sceptical about our chances of success; however, the Hazlewoods team were able to secure a credible buyer who shared our values.
“From the outset Rob, Karan and the wider Hazlewoods team demonstrated professionalism, strong market knowledge, and a genuine understanding of the care sector and our wishes. They guided us through every stage of the process with confidence and handled any challenges proactively.
“Thanks to their expertise, we achieved a successful outcome that met both our financial goals and our aspirations for the future of the business and our staff. We felt supported throughout and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hazlewoods to any care business owner considering a sale.”
Hazlewoods Corporate Finance Director Rob Plumb said: “Positive Pathways has established an excellent reputation within the sector, underpinned by the dedication and expertise of Kevin, Danielle and their team.
“We were delighted to support the shareholders throughout the sale process and help secure a partner that shares the business’s values and long-term vision for delivering outstanding outcomes for children and young people.”
Dr Anu Gupta, clinical director for Care Perspectives, said: “The alignment in our vision and values was clear from our earliest conversations with the team at Positive Pathways, with both our organisations founded on the belief that every young person has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of the challenges they face.
“We’re working closely with the Positive Pathways team to ensure a seamless transition and the highest levels of care and support to our children and young people and their families.”
