Hazlewoods has appointed a new Tax Partner, Tom Woodcock to expand its tax practice.

Tom, a barrister and chartered tax adviser, joins Hazlewoods from Price Waterhouse Coopers’ entrepreneurs and private company practice where amongst other things he led the firm’s motorsport industry team advising the Brawn, Lotus and Virgin Formula 1 teams.

Tom has nearly twenty years experience of providing tax advice to a wide variety of clients “everything from Dorset scallop farmers to the Bolivian government”. Whilst his clients have been very diverse the focus of Tom’s career has been advising entrepreneurs on the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions and he has extensive experience of management buy outs, flotations and private equity transactions.

Tom Woodcock, new Tax Partner of Hazlewoods said:

“I am really pleased to be joining Hazlewoods.  Apart from the obvious quality of its people and their advice, Hazlewoods has a real focus on building strong relationships with its clients.  Sometimes that gets lost, but to me that is what being an adviser is all about.”

Jon Cartwright, Managing Partner of Hazlewoods said:

"It is vital that as the firm continues to grow, tax stays at the forefront of it.  In additional to his taxation knowledge Tom has very strong commercial skills which makes a perfect fit with our overall client offering.  We are delighted that Tom has chosen to work with us".
