From calculating tax liabilities and student loan repayments through to record keeping, we can guide you through the next chapter.

The next big decision as an associate is whether you want to buy your own practice or a share in an existing one. We help to ensure that you pay the right price and can structure the purchase in a tax-efficient manner, tailored to your circumstances. Our team can also connect you to vital financial and legal support, built up from years of developing trusted networks with bankers, solicitors and other advisers.

With your dental career taking off, it is important that your time and energy goes into your continued development. As well as making your life easier by preparing your annual accounts and tax returns, our dental expertise will ensure that you claim all relevant business expenses, keeping your tax bills as low as possible.

Our experts can support you as your business grows using tailored benchmarking and specialist industry insights to help you understand your current strengths and opportunities, through to advising on practice acquisitions.

The right time to sell is complex. It involves emotions as well as financial concerns and does not happen overnight, but without an exit strategy in place, your options are limited.

If you are contemplating the sale of your business, either now or in the future, we can work with you in creating an exit strategy bespoke to your objectives.

Making the leap: Associate to practice owner

After working in his parent's family practice as an associate, Oliver Pierce decided that he wanted to become a practice owner, eventually going on to purchase Sutton Dental Practice.

We spoke with Oliver and Hazlewoods dental experts, Nigel Utting, Associate Partner, and Lee Brinkworth, Manager, on how this all came to be and what was involved throughout the process.

"As I progressed in my career, I wanted to buy my own practice. With the family history of working with Hazlewoods, I reached out to the team to review my accounts for a prospective practice. They provided guidance on the buying process, the viability of various practices and accurate EBITDA valuations."
