Hazlewoods Legal team: One-stop shop for mergers

Published: Monday 14 January 2019

Hazlewoods Legal team has formed an association with six other businesses, which between them have advised on over 150 law firm mergers. The Association of Law Firm Merger Advisers (ALFMA) aims to ‘bring a level of professionalism and responsibility’ to the merger advice sector. The ALFMA said it had been formed as a ‘direct response to unprecedented change and challenge’ faced by the legal profession and a lack of easily recognisable turn-to expertise.

There is a wide range of offering when looking for consultants and businesses who claim to have expertise in merger work, and it can be a difficult for a firm to know where to start or who to trust.

Andy Harris, Associate Partner in Hazlewoods Legal team said: “Being part of the ALFMA provides a UK-wide network for clients. It enables access to experts in this specialist area, knowing they are going to be in safe hands and that they are dealing with an experienced law firm merger expert if they are dealing with an ALFMA member.”
